My name is Alyssa Hazra. I'm 21, born and raised in Singapore, and currently studying English Literature and Philosophy at Nanyang Technological University.

My philosophy​

I believe that for me to grow as a writer, having an open mind is of utmost importance. That includes diversifying not just my writing style, but also, my perspectives. 

Through my craft, I hope to be able to influence the literary scene in my community, even if it may just be the people around me. ​
My work (so far) focuses mainly on creative writing: poetry, fictional and non-fictional prose. I like to think that they reflect my personhood. More than that, I hope others can find bits of themselves, who they were, who they are now, or who they may become. I hope my writing can one day build a community, a place for others to relate to each other, regardless of background.

My inspiration

Books, people, shows, nature, life. You name it, I'm inspired by it.

I hate when someone asks me what my favourite "anything" is because I feel like they'll hate me when I say "Everything". Perhaps I'm indecisive, but that is only because I try to appreciate the beauty in every piece of art. It's all about perspective and understanding.

My favourite things are constantly changing. Right now, I'm obsessed with exploring the use of Magic and how it reflects our innermost thoughts and desires. I'm even working on an essay about it on my Substack blog, which you can visit to read my creative works, thoughts, and opinions!
